In the peaceful forests and versatile terrains of Jämsä you can make delightful trips. Thanks to the Everyman’s Right Act, in Finland, you can walk freely in the forests and hike on the nature paths, without harming the nature, or disrupting the neighbours and local residents, of course. With the help of orienteering and online excursion maps, you can plan your own hiking trip, or enjoy a safe nature trip on our marked recreational routes.
Isojärvi National Park
The Isojärvi National Park is located in South, on border of Jämsä and Kuhmoinen. It offer hiking routes of various lengths: beginning from a nature trip of few hours to a hiking trip of a couple of days.
Pukinvuori Recreational Route
In the centre of Jämsä, on Hartusvuori Hill there is a recreational route Pukinvuori. On the top of the hill there is a shelter with a great view to the Jämsä River Valley. You can even go swimming along the trip in Lake Särkijärvi. In winter, the route is part of the cross-country ski track.
Hiking Trails of Himos
Himos Holiday Resort has a good, marked hiking trails, which offer versatile routes for recreation, hiking, Nordic Walking, trail running, and snow shoe trips. There are beautiful views along the trails. Those, who crave for longer hikes and a little adventure, there is a map to a Shelter Rock.
